Successful Home Sharing

Home sharing, when done well, can provide many benefits for all involved. Homeowners get extra money to pay for their mortgage, taxes, and other expenses. Renters can often get an affordable place to live—and sometimes pay for their housing by providing household help. Both “home-mates” can benefit from the positive social connections. This track looks at different options and practical steps that a community can take to support this low-cost, high-impact strategy.
