Katherine Levine Einstein is an associate professor of political science (and Director of Undergraduate Studies) at Boston University. She studies housing, local politics, and political inequality. Her most recent book (with David Glick and Maxwell Palmer) Neighborhood Defenders: Participatory Politics and America’s Housing Crisis (Cambridge University Press 2019) explores the politics of housing development. Her work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Russell Sage Foundation, and Rockefeller Foundation. She is the co-principal investigator of the Menino Survey of Mayors and serves on the editorial board of the Urban Affairs Review.
